Post-Superbowl Belly Aches
How did everyone enjoy the Super Bowl yesterday? I missed nearly every bit of it. I did however see the Go Daddy kissing commercial. I cannot for the life of me get that picture or sound out of my head. GROSS. I missed the blackout and I was asleep at least an hour before the game was over. I left the party right after the halftime show and did not turn it on when I got home. I was way too sleepy. I spent the morning at church for the amazing Superbowl of Preaching sermon at Crossroads. It was awesome! I taught four-year olds both Saturday evening and Sunday morning before I went to my service. Those kiddos are adorable but exhausting :) Here is a picture I snapped during our “half-time” show…
Yes this is church :)
I gave you guys some great recipes for your Superbowl parties on Saturday and I did not follow my own suggestions – at all. I ran out of time and decided on a whim that Superbowl Sunday is a great reason to consume an obscene amount of dairy (because that is totally logical). My food options were: a veggie tray (thanks, Mom), beer cheese, spinach dip, Velveeta and salsa dip, onion dip, vegetarian taco dip, etc. along with a lot of meat. You get the idea with the DIPS theme. Needless to say, I overindulged in a little too much dip. Today has pretty much been a belly ache nightmare. To ease some of my pain and belly troubles I have eaten very light. This morning I had a small oatmeal, no snack, a kale salad and a side of red lentils for lunch, and when I got home Tyler and I had a kale smoothie. Kale seems to hold so much promise for intestinal recovery for me today. Dinner tonight will be Brussels sprouts – I think by tomorrow I should feel back to my normal self again. I hope.
We got a bit of snow today. The big fluffy kind, my favorite. Tyler and I ventured out to play after we finished our smoothies, I would be lying if I didn’t omit that playing in the snow was a bribe to get him to finish the smoothie in a reasonable timeframe… which totally worked.
Isn’t he the cutest?! And really that smile alone made me feel 100% times better.
Some questions for you:
- What is your go-to belly ache cure?
- Do you give yourself cheat days for special occasions?
- What was your favorite part of the Superbowl?
Tomorrow I am back on track and back to the gym… tonight, I have a date with my couch and a certain cuddle bug :)
